Duties

Serving as a Supply Technician GS-2005-7 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Practical Support Branch (PSB), Student Services Division (SSD) under the Mission and Readiness Support Directorate (MRSD) located in Glynco, Georgia. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Supply Technician responsible for performing duties related to the scheduling, assigning, coordination, preparation, and accountability of all practical exercise equipment. Typical duties include: Providing support in the establishment and/or control of the Practical Exercise (PE) equipment accountability records for the assigned FLETC training exercise program. Using established methods and procedures, establishes new records for students and/or instructors being issued practical exercise equipment. Maintaining and archiving, as necessary, all equipment record files using established FLETC policies. Performing periodic review of supply and inventory records to ensure accuracy and performs corrections as necessary. Resolving conflicting equipment record files by researching and analyzing the problem and contacting appropriate personnel for corrections when required.

Specialized Experience: You qualify for the GS-07 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: Maintaining and archiving all equipment record files using established policies, conducting inspections of weapons and storage areas ensuring compliance with established policies and guidelines, resolving equipment deficiencies or any other situations that may arise, and maintaining adequate supply levels and determining quantities required to replenish based on established life cycle plans and validating the resources. All requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
