About the Position: Located with the 79th Sustainment Support Command (SSC), 103rd Mission Support Element, 103rd Equipment Concentration Site, Des Moines, IA.

Duties

Brief commands on unit compliance with established training objectives related to suicide prevention. Review investigations and develop summaries to brief senior leadership. Coordinate with internal and external organizations to share information, trends, best practices, lessons learned, and/or training developments. Perform staff assisted visits to ensure regulatory program compliance. Develop suicide prevention program goals and objectives for the Major Subordinate Commands (MSC). Administer the suicide prevention program for both military and civilian members, Prepare reports using automated software such as Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint. Navigate different systems to acquire information related to personnel suicide events.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: Coordinates social services program (such as suicide prevention, substance abuse or family programs); provide counseling to employees, managers, organizations and/or families on suicide prevention or other social services topics; arrange and/or provide technical briefings, orientations, trainings or workshops; and track and report information using a variety of automated systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service, GS-09. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsEducation and TrainingOral CommunicationOrganizational Performance Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
