The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Bowling Center Manager. Including all operations, management, and maintenance.
Duties
Selects candidates for vacancies, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and Equal Employment Opportunity, and diversity objectives.
Recognizes and takes appropriate action to correct situations posing a threat to the health or safety of subordinates.
Initiates/reviews programs to ensure a continuous variety of successful and popular events to meet the needs of the base community and the Centers patronage consisting of a diverse population.
Provides adequate internal controls over cash, checks, charge slips, coupons or other cash substitutes or instruments to prevent recurring overages and shortages.
Performs periodic inspections of furniture, fixtures, and equipment ensuring cleanliness, operability, and replacements are programmed and submitted for inclusion on the requirements budget.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft

- Work requires an uncommon tour of duty to include weekends, holidays, evenings, overtime, etc
- Position requires the completion of Supervisor’s Food Handlers training, and applicable refresher courses

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level (or equivalent in other pay systems) in the federal service in which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience which may have been gained while providing assistance organizing, developing programs and plans of the daily activities of a bowling facility operation to ensure all eligible patrons and their guests are provided the best possible customer service and programming.

EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL. B or J.D in a field related to the position being filled. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPT.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of bowling and business of bowling; bowling center operations, including lane maintenance; and the bowling industry in general.
2. Knowledge of the full range of federal, business and trade practices, characteristics, equipment, and products related to the bowling industry and the hospitality industry (Food, beverage, and entertainment).
3. Knowledge of personnel policies, procedures, rules, and regulations in order to plan, organize and direct.
4. Skills in written and oral communication to review and edit reports, briefs, memorandums, actions and with personnel and patrons alike in at timely, professional, and courteous manner.
5. Skill and ability in developing, planning, and executing events involving protocol and decorum extended to high level commanders, their guests, and dignitaries.
6. Knowledge and skill of financial management, especially budget preparation and execution, financial analysis, inventory controls, short- and long-term facility requirements.
7. Knowledge and skill to gather, analyze facts, devise alternative solutions, and identify changes and trends.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
