The primary purpose of this position is to, as an Air Reserve Technician (ART), administer the Inspector General (IG) Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP) under the leadership of the Director of Inspections. Supports the unit/installation commander in the development, review, and full assessment of organization status as it relates to achieving maximum readiness.

Duties

Ensure assigned Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP) members are qualified and trained to perform internal control monitoring and evaluation activities in accordance with Air Force Instructions, higher headquarters guidance, and unit/installation plans. Cultivate a unit/installation CCIP to facilitate positive working relationships and effective communication with assigned organizations. Formulate and develop an annual inspection plan. Prepare annual inspection plans which include evaluations of the effectiveness of the unit/installation, subordinate units, and programs. Administer the CCIP Dashboard and Commander's Inspection Management Board (CIMB). Employ SharePoint or other reporting tools to oversee the CCIP Dashboard and provide real-time data on wing programs and inspections. Analyze, review, and fully implement higher-headquarters regulations and executes supplementary unit/installation inspection guidance.

  • Position may or will require incumbent to Fly in military and/or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty (TDY) assignments
  • Required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities
  • Position may require a background security investigation to determine suitability for employment and/or a security clearance
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guide
  • Advance in hire may be authorized if there is demonstrable proof provided on your resume
  • May be required to work overtime to meet special workload demands
  • The employee must meet and maintain training requirements as outlined in applicable Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force regulations.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Group Standard for Administrative & Management Positions SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in federal service (or equivalent in other pay systems) which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience gained while conducting investigations; conducting interviews and following leads; evaluating and interpreting data from a variety of sources to reconstruct events; preparing analytical reports of findings; identifying problems and recommending solutions; interpreting investigative regulations, laws, and policies. OR EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position if the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPT TO VERIFY YOUR EDUCATION. FAILURE TO SUBMIT YOUR TRANSCRIPT WILL RESULT IN AN INELIGIBLE RATING. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of various organizational policies, instructions, and regulations directing the management of an organizations inspection program, and governing operations and plans programs. 2. Knowledge of organization mission requirements, vulnerabilities, operational and computer security policies, inspection program goals and objectives, internal controls, and operations of a wide variety of organizations. 3. Knowledge of organization smart operations for the 21st Century, and qualitative and/or quantitative methods sufficient to gather and analyze facts, identify trends, and draw conclusions. 4. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of inspection/exercise program operations. 5. Skill in conducting interviews with supervisors, technical experts, and employees to obtain information about organizational missions, functions, interrelationships, inspection activities, internal controls, and work procedures. 6. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
