Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) at Los Angeles Air Force Base is searching for a Chief, Physical Security (NH-0080-03).
Description:
The SAPMO Chief of Physical Security provides tracking and oversight of all facilities within Space Systems Command accredited for use by Special Access Program activities. It supports the SSC SAP Management Office, the SSC single focal point for all SAP activities within the Field Command.

The ideal candidate should be familiar with Special Access Program Physical Security processes; Knowledge of ICD705; Bachelor's degree, Leadership experience; Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Special Program Security Certification (SPSC).
Candidate must be self-motivated and work independently without constant supervision. Must be able to understand complex issues and assess impacts to the program to make decisions. Must listen and communicate effectively with diverse people across roles and locations to advance mission and explain issues and risks. Must also be detailed oriented and able to track multiple efforts, schedules and requirements all driving to enable the mission.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1.Knowledge of processes and procedures related to program management and strategic planning activities needed to execute projects and/or studies within established financial and time constraints.
2. Ability to encourage new ideas and innovations; manage human, financial and information resources strategically and build coalitions to achieve common goals.

Requirements
- This position is on-site and not eligible for remote or telework.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD.
- In accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification and AFI 36-2645, Security Professional Certification and Development.
- The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.
- PCS and incentives are available.

- This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
