This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Facilities Support Services Division. As a Maintenance Worker, you will perform a variety of basic trade practices associated with painting, carpentry, electrical work, heating, ventilating and air conditioning, etc.
Duties
As a Maintenance Worker, you will:
Perform a variety of tasks involved in the upkeep of facility, structures, fixtures, equipment, and utilities. Incumbent performs work in support of a variety of trades such as Plumber, Electrician, Carpenter, Pipefitter, etc.
Clean work areas, parts, equipment, and machinery using solvents and chemicals.
Use general tools such as rules, pliers, hammers, screwdrivers, electric saws, hacksaws.
Assist journeymen in the maintenance/repair of buildings and installation of equipment.
Work from oral instructions, blueprints, work orders and on occasion perform simple tasks and plan the work accordingly.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Minimally qualifying experience is defined as: Participation in facilities maintenance projects ensuring timely completion. Coordinating with supervisors and maintenance leads to discuss overall goals and overlapping assignments. Duties included, but were not limited to carpentry, electrical, equipment maintenance, plumbing, painting, carpeting, and masonry. All duties were performed with normal supervision.
