About the Position: The U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY is an academic institution located in the Hudson River Valley, 50 miles from New York City. The historic site is the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. West Point is a self-contained city with housing, a Department of Public Works, libraries, hospital, fire department, chapels, and restaurants. Employees have access to Eisenhower Hall Theater, Hudson Valley's performing arts center, and recreational facilities.
Duties
Work with the Associate Dean for Research (ADR), and Sustainable Infrastructure, Resilience, Climate Consortium (SIRCC) and Executive Committee (EXCOM) to execute SIRCC budget planning and execution.
Inform the SIRCC EXCOM on SIRCC research opportunities across government, academe, and industry.
Support the administrative duties of the SIRCC Community of Interest at United State Military Academy (USMA).
Work with the Deputy Director for Research Outreach in Office of Research (OR) to market the SIRCC research story.
Liaise with USMA external Liaison Officers (LNO) in the West Point (WP) Werx Innovation Hub to provide integration and synchronization with SIRCC interests.
Execute LNO duties with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy, Environment (O/ASA IEE) and other SIRCC-interested partners.
Represent West Point at academic and professional conferences and SIRCC specific events.
Teach and conduct research in own area of expertise.
Requirements

This is a full-time term appointment in the excepted service not to exceed 13 Months.Term appointments may be extended beyond the initial term. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must (a) hold a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, OR (b) possess a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Applicants will be evaluated on the following: 1) Academic Accomplishment (Master's or Ph.D. preferred); 2) Ability to teach at the college level; 3) Demonstrated ability to conduct research portfolio planning and management across multiple organizations. 4) Ability to provide experience in research collaboration with U.S. Government agencies, academic institutions, and/or private sector entities. 5) Demonstrated potential for budget planning and execution with federal and private funding; 6) Ability to provide direction and guidance to subordinates and peers.
