About the Position: Position is located inside Medical Records Section of Kenner Army Health Clinic. Office hours are 0730-1630 Mon-Fri. Overseeing day to day duties in medical records and Release of Information In Accordance With DOD 6025.18 and DHA 6025.02 to include external and internal customer service.

Duties

Instructs and trains para-professional and professional staff to comply with the medical records procedures and policies Resolves a variety of problems presented by physicians, patients with their families or nursing personnel. Revises work schedules as necessary to assure effective operations. Prepares and submits workload and production reports to higher level authority. Analyzes medical records to determine completion, discharge notes, signature, test results and other technical and administrative elements. Assembles medical records according to established policies and procedures. Resolves discrepancies in data. Initiates action to obtain delayed or lost documentation.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (NACI) background check.
• This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position and is subject to a pre-employment screening and random testing thereafter.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination.
• This position may have a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination. A candidate selected to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
• Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
• This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
• This position is inclement weather essential. This means that you must be willing to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position may have occasional opportunities for overtime.
