About the Position: This position is located at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Center in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Duties
Leads and guides guard personnel in the daily activities.
Assigns work and assure that all employees meet scheduled and priority assignments.
Provides on-the-job-training and answers questions on procedures.
Provides protective measures against trespass, theft, fire, personal injuries, criminal incidents, and accidental or willful damage and destruction.
Prevents unauthorized personnel from entering restricted areas and tactfully challenges individuals not displaying proper identification.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- This position may require the incumbent to work weekends and/or holidays.
- This position may require rotating shifts (i.e. work schedule that requires employees to continuously rotate from one shift to another at predetermined intervals).
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
- This position requires successful completion of semiannual weapons and taser qualification testing.
- This position requires successful completion of semiannual weapons and Taser qualification testing.
- This position requires the incumbent to wear protective body armor.
- This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certification.
- Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
- This position requires the incumbent to wear protection masks, gloves, and other associated equipment when necessary.
- This position requires the incumbent to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants, non-lethal weapons, and other law enforcement equipment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing training for employees, inspecting facility perimeters for quality assurance, and using automated systems to safeguard personnel and information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
