Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, San Diego Sector, Law Enforcement Programs Division, Strategic Communications Branch located in Chula Vista, CA.

Duties

This position will allow you to use your expertise in audio visual production to become a vital and essential part of Customs and Border Protection's mission. Apply for this exciting opportunity to serve as a producer, director, editor, gaffer, scriptwriter and production assistant in support of agency informational programming. This position starts at a salary of $99,044.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $128,752.00 (GS-12, Step 10). As an Audiovisual Production Specialist, you are required to serve as a producer, director, script writer and production assistant in support of agency informational and message media production projects. You are responsible for oversight of the following program objectives: Producing quality multi-media production projects in support of agency informational and messaging media production projects. Managing all facets of multi-media production projects, including directing, audio, video, script preparation, editing, photography, graphic design, and post-production. Field collection of video footage and photography. Assembling and repairing cables, installing and maintaining equipment, ordering and maintaining spare parts for all studio equipment. Familiarizing and becoming efficient with engraving and printing equipment and processes as well as other multi-media assignments, as needed.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Consulting with clients on general concepts, objectives, and target audiences of projects; Directing video productions by designing sets and lighting, conceiving visuals, selecting music and sound effects; Selecting and directing cameras and movement during taping and editing; Assisting in preparation or graphics and support requirements for productions.
