About the Position: Serves as an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Specialist, participating with the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Manager in accomplishing requirements of the Equal Employment Opportunity Program. Serves as principal advisor to the EEO Manager for the Seattle District, and participates in the planning, organizing, analysis, review, evaluation and administration of an affirmative employment program designed to assist management in accomplishing its EEO mission.

Duties

Ensure Special Emphasis Programs, Reasonable Accommodation, EEO counseling and formal complaints programs and administration are in compliance with Laws, Executive Orders, Regulations and Policies. Serves as EEO Counselor providing information on the complaint process to employees, applicants, managers and/or serviced activities of the Seattle District. Develop and present equal employment opportunity training for supervisory development, employee orientation and counsel or training.

GS-09 grade level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes informing management officials and employees on basic EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) program requirements AND pulling reports to analyze data to monitor the progress in achieving EEO goals AND assisting in the EEO complaint process. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Human Resources Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-11 grade level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes counseling and advising on the EEO complaints process and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Human Resources Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement for the GS-11: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
