This position is located in the Business Office, Great Plains Area Indian Health Service. The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Business Office Coordinator in planning, implementing and monitoring an efficient, timely and accurate third party claims generation and accounts receivable system.
Duties
Assist Business Office Coordinator in providing consultative service on all aspect of third-party collections.
Recommends needed changes to systems, policies, procedures, and/or contract development.
Provide technical expertise to CEO's, Tribal Health Directors, Urban Directors, Business Office Manager and staff on patient registration, third-party claims generations/billing, and accounts receivable.
Advocates for all program to assure maximum collections are received for services rendered.
Qualifications

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: assures all aspects of the reimbursement system are in compliance with current and changing requirements of the agency; provides technical expertise on patient registration, third-party claims generating/billing, and accounts receivable; develops and provides training business office operating procedures for any new policy and procedures requirements implement by the agency; conducting technical reviews and evaluates business office functions to make recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
