This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, YARD, Industrial Department, Services Group in Baltimore, MD.
Duties
You will be responsible for performing a variety of routine rigging tasks involved in the construction, maintenance, overhaul and conversion of a wide variety of types and sizes of marine craft and vessels in the connection with miscellaneous manufacturing projects performed at the Yard.Being a civilian working for the Coast Guard makes you a valuable member of the team. Qualifications
Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired.Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements:* Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREENOUT)* Knowledge of equipment, assembly, installation, repair, etc.* Technical practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)* Use of measuring instruments* Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc., (includes blueprint reading)* Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment* Knowledge of materialsNational Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
