Duties

Serves as the Chief Accounting Officer and primary advisor to the Financial Administration Division. Responsible for all finance and accounting operations in support of plans, programs and activities of the assigned HQ Department of the Army NAFIs. Provides technical guidance and executive direction on financial management and accounting operations. Establishes and implements accounting policies and procedures. Reviews and implements the changes to both the automated accounting system and the Internal Control Program.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. Must include at least one year of experience performing duties at a level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform successfully in the position. Supervisory experience that demonstrates the ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems, identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and instruct and guide other accountants in implementing required solutions. Successful completion of a full 4 year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree that includes 24 semester hours in accounting/auditing; Or Four years combination of education and experience in accounting or auditing. The quality of the experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the professional knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the caliber of duties described above, and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in Accounting or Auditing. Preferred are those candidates who have a working knowledge of industry specific reporting requirements/ pronouncements of the Financial Accounting Standard Board (FAS).
