This position is an Administrative Support Assistant, GS- 0303-6/7, working in Lacey, WA, for the R1-Puget Sound/Olympic Peninsula Fish/Aquatic CC.

Duties

The Puget Sound Olympic Peninsula Complex (PSOP) is composed of three National Fish Hatcheries (Quilcene, Quinault, and Makah) and the Western Washington Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office (WWFWCO). The facilities are geographically dispersed across the Washington State Olympic Peninsula. The duty station for this position is at the main PSOP office located in Lacey, WA (co-located with WWFWCO) with travel time to the hatcheries ranging from 1.5 hours to nearly 5 hours. As an Administrative Support Assistant your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Timekeeping and travel support Completing tasks / assisting the Administrative Officer with agreements, contracts, fleet reporting, property inventory, purchases, credit card reconciliation, and onboarding new employees for the Complex

Qualifications

Only experience and education obtained by 04/05/2024 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position you must satisfy the Minimum Qualification of the grade level(s) you are applying to. Minimum Qualification [GS-6] One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Qualifying experience may include: (1) reviewing organizational funds or financial data to ensure accuracy; (2) assisting in procuring supplies, equipment, or services in accordance with regulation / policy; (3) providing administrative support services (e.g., timekeeping; filing; preparing forms, documents, and correspondence); (4) responding to procedural questions from the public. Minimum Qualification [GS-7] One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Qualifying experience may include: (1) reviewing organizational funds or financial data to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies; (2) analyzing funding requirements; (3) procuring supplies, equipment, or services in accordance with regulation / policy, and preparing and submitting payment packets; (4) providing administrative support services (e.g., timekeeping; preparing and reviewing travel vouchers; preparing and monitoring personnel actions); (5) preparing oral briefings and/or written reports for management on financial or administrative matters. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
