You will serve as a SUPV FIREFIGHTER (BLS/HAZMAT TECH) of NAS CORPUS CHRISTI.
Duties
You will review the placement of apparatus equipment to affect rapid control, extinguishment, and rescue of personnel.
You will evaluate the effectiveness of a hazardous material response.
You will check new fire protection systems or equipment to verify correct installation and performance.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: directing crews in the performance of various standby duties (such as maintenance and inspection of equipment, execution of training, drills and performance of low risk fire prevention inspections); taking charge of firefighting operations; and/or determining best utilization of firefighters and equipment for combating/mitigating hazardous environment; performs crash rescue and firefighting duties involving air traffic control or support operations where hazardous conditions are such that the expectancy for fire is high; drives and/or operates firefighting vehicles, such as pumpers, aerial ladder trucks and airport rescue firefighting vehicles; performs hazard and risk assessment and/or conducts a complete incident analysis
This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Apparatus Driver-Operator for Pumper, Airport Rescue Firefighting (ARFF), Aerial vehicles, HAZMAT Technician Level, Fire Officer II, Fire Inspector I, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Instructor II, Hazardous Materials Incident Command Levels.
These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. Also requires National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT).
