This position is located within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), ICE Health Service Corps (IHSC), Office of Deputy Assistant Director of Clinical Services. The incumbent will report directly to the site Clinical Director. This is a supervisory position.
This position is only open to USPHS officers and Call to Active Duty (CAD) candidates who are currently IHSC employees.

Requirements

- You must successfully pass a drug screen.
- Males born after 12/31/59 must certify registration with Selective Service.
- Requirements by Closing Date: Unless otherwise noted, you must meet all requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
- Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- Applicants must be a current USPHS Commissioned Corps Officer or USPHS Call to Active Duty (CAD) candidate who works at IHSC.
Civilians are not eligible for this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires physical exertion such as lifting objects greater than 30 pounds.
Required to perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling.
Must have the ability to assist sick, injured or aging detainees or staff exiting the building (may require lifting, dragging, wheeling or carrying someone who weighs significantly more than self).
The work may necessitate some physical characteristics that will be required when responding to an emergency situation, such as running a short distance, prolonged standing and working in an austere environment.
Education
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Physician Assistant - Requires unrestricted Physician Assistant state license, national board certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current Licensure as a Physician Assistant - Certified by a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or territory of the United States.
- Graduate from a Physician Assistant Program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). Certified as a PA-C by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Nurse Practitioner - Requires unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner state license, national board certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (APRN) or the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Current Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner- Certified by a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or territory of the United States.
- Certified advance practice nurse practitioner degree from a graduate school training program approved for this qualifying degree.
- Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act for the licensing state and/or the state in which one practices nursing.
- Requires more than six years of full-time clinical experience as a PA or NP or approval of the IHSC Chief Advanced Practice Provider.
- Team lead or supervisory experience of more than two years.
- Fulfills the obligation(s) of their licensing or certifying body to maintain currency.
- Maintains unrestricted license with state of licensure and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to prescribe controlled medications.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience in IHSC health system.
- Correctional Healthcare experience.
- Certification as Correctional Healthcare Professional (CCHP)
- Knowledge and/or experience with IHSC policies, NCCHC and PBNDS requirements.
- Knowledge of public health preparedness, infection control and TB management
- ACLS certification.
- ATLS Certification.
