Duties

You will serve as a technical expert in the full range of aerial target systems for Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) and other U.S. Navy user activities. You will plan and coordinate an extensive target systems test program for new targets introduced at PMRF. You will assist in the development of test plans and scenarios, including a complete data collection and analysis plan. You will assist PMRF systems and program managers in the analysis of program requirements to determine required systems/aerial target support capabilities, potential problem areas, and oversee required systems capability improvements or procurements. You will perform the full range of project management functions including (but not limited to): planning/evaluation, testing, configuration management, system integration, data processing, technical direction/monitoring of contracts, reporting, etc. You will synthesize varied technical information and convert this data into a unified and comprehensive target systems capability plan to support range user requirements. You will apply knowledge of reliability and maintainability engineering in order to improve or maintain those characteristics for assigned range aerial target systems. You will demonstrate mastery of advanced concepts, theories, principles, practices, methods, and techniques of U.S. Navy aerial target systems.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting in the management of aerial target systems to monitor and prepare short and long-range plans for the sustainment and improvement of range systems capabilities.
