As a Building Manager, you will serve as a Senior Property Manager and provide supervision in terms of broad administrative direction and policy guidance, and the identification of resource constraints.Location of position: GSA, Public Building Service (PBS), Long Island Field Office in Central Islip, NY.
We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
Supervises and assigns work to subordinates.
Assesses associates’ competencies and evaluates performance; schedules and approves leave; counsels associates and takes appropriate disciplinary action when necessary; provides feedback on quality, quantity and timeliness of their work.
Develops operating requirements in support of ongoing and proposed programs.
Develops or alters plans to anticipate or accommodate changes based on input from occupant agency management, major reorganizations, relocations, changes in occupants, or other events.
Enforces GSA policies, regulations, and procedures governing the use of Federally owned and occupied space.
Administers safety, fire prevention, and environmental management programs for buildings within the geographical area.

- US Citizenship or National (Residents of American Samoa and Swains Island)
- Meet all eligibility criteria within 30 days of the closing date
- Meet time-in-grade within 30 days of the closing date, if applicable
- Register with Selective Service if you are a male born after 12/31/1959

The GS-14 salary range starts at $143,559 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as: Experience providing leadership in planning, executing, evaluating, overseeing, and/or administering a large, multi-faceted real property program (i.e., Building/Facilities Operations and Maintenance, procurement and Federal funding, Energy Management, Safety and Environmental Management, Custodial Services, Lease Management and Business Metrics). Such experience must have prepared the applicant to lead a business line function and supervise associates in implementing the vision, mission, and goals of an agency/organization.
