Duties

You will screen intake calls appropriately (does not conduct intake) and schedule routine appointments for clients and convey information to clients. You will collect specific case information from individuals and families served and from other community neighborhood sources for the use of the appropriate program supervisor, as assigned. You will serve as a primary point of contact for all travel and training for the Counseling and Advocacy Program and/or Fleet and Family Support Center staff. You will operate a computer or word processor to create, edit, print, retrieve, or manipulate documents, charts, spreadsheets, and files.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You must be a Qualified Typist. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. This must be supported in your resume. Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing clerical and administrative support to staff members by collecting and processing specific case information for individuals and families; 2) Communicating in writing and/or orally to clients, personnel, and other parties involved through letters, memos, and reports to inform and explain regulations, procedures, and concepts; and 3) Using clerical procedures to maintain, file, and retrieve information and to prepare reports. *Note: Resume must support all of the above specialized experience and list typing speed.
