This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Superintendent, Fort Apache Agency in Whiteriver, Arizona. Implementation of stand analysis prescriptions developed by Forest Development Foresters and Silvicultrurists to meet stand objectives.

Duties
This is a Temporary Intermittent position Not-To-Exceed two years. This position will perform under the general supervision of a Forestry Technician (GS-5 to GS-7); and will be responsible for the fieldwork involved with the Forest Development activities that may include planting, site preparation and pre-commercial thinning. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

- A background security investigation will be required for all new hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication.

TRAVEL AND RELOCATION EXPENSES WILL NOT BE AUTHORIZED. ANY RELOCATION EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH REPORTING FOR DUTY WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SELECTED EMPLOYEE.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
GS-02: 3 months of general experience OR High School Diploma or equivalent degree.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: (1) Any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with the subject matter or processes of the broad subject area of the occupation. Can be evidenced by farming or ranching work that involved application of cultural, soil and water conservation practices, including safety and use of equipment, and that provided a basic understanding of land use; or forest or range fire control, prevent on, or suppression work.

Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date.
