About the Position: This position is for a Secretary (Office Automation) located at Langley Air Force Base which is a United States Air Force base located in Hampton, Virginia adjacent to Newport News.

Duties

Prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports, and other documents. Review and process incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations, and directives. Receive telephone calls, greets visitors, and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits. Maintain supervisor's calendar, coordinates meeting arrangements, and schedules meetings and/or conferences. Perform other clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization. Use varied and advanced functions of word processing software to create, format, modify, edit, and print a variety of letters, reports, memos, and other textual documents.

Requirements

  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60.
