About the Position: Serves as an Army Community Service Specialist for the Directorate of Morale, Welfare, and Recreation at Fort Sill, Oklahoma

Duties

Serve as Army Community Service (ACS) Multi-Functional Specialist with professional and technical responsibility for assisting Commanders with assessing, tailoring and prioritizing ACS service delivery in support of local military and Family needs. Adhere to established headquarters client tracking/service usage procedures and requirements. Serve as the installation liaison with on and off post agencies in support of leveraging partnerships. Manage installation ACS services, establishing goals, objectives and procedures IAW applicable State, DoD, DA and other federal guidance, regulations and laws. Develop referral policies and procedures between the ACS, installation and community agencies. Keep abreast of DoD and army priorities and initiatives and services/options available. Consult with on and off site community leadership officials on Soldier and Family Readiness services and related issues. Exercise significant responsibilities in dealing with officials of other units or organizations and/or in advising management officials of higher grade. Serve as unit service coordinator, providing services to a designated military unit. Conduct ACS briefings/presentation .

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves:1. Support social service tasks to include client intake, crisis intervention and transition services; 2. Draft reports, memorandums, and presentations regarding community services and activities; 3. Utilize effective communication skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Psychology or Sociology. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications and MediaCustomer ServiceInterpersonal Skills Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
