About the Position: Serves as Equipment Specialist for the Center for Countermeasures (The Center). This is a developmental up to the full-performance of GS-1670-11 position and is located in White Sands Missle Range, New Mexico.

Duties

Develop and manage overall Installation Equipment Maintenance Program. Advise on Life cycle management of installation mobile equipment. Manage center safety program. Serve as building custodian.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 40% of the time.
  • This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Commercial Driver's License (CDL) in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

To qualify for the GS-11 Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Developing and managing equipment operations program for an organization; (2) Maintaining property accountability and following established program standards to manage required maintenance and repair of equipment such as automotive, specialized, and material handling equipment (MHE); and (3) Establishing preventive maintenance schedules. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-09.
