THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK), Position Description Number D2174P01 and is part of the PA 193rd Special Operations Wing, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement.

Duties

As a SUPV IT SPEC (NETWORK), GS-2210-12, you will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Provide technical expertise and management oversight, in the installation, administration, optimization, and operation of multiple large and enhanced complex networks and communication systems. Develop and recommend technical solutions to mission and customer requirements. Manage Commissioning and Acceptance requirements for contractor delivered operating systems and services. Adheres to management control plan requirements by conducting self-inspection and staff assistance visits. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

Qualifications

APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Non-Bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees working at the location specified AOC 2: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC 3: All Service Members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (to include Temporary Technicians) Military Grades: ENLISTED E8 MUST POSSESS 1D7XX AFSC MUST HAVE SECURITY PLUS CERTIFICATE Supervisor for this position is Lt Col Gattens Manpower # 00800120 *NOTE: Accessioning into this position is contingent upon verification of Top Secret Security Clearance *NOTE: If you're a new supervisor in the Federal Government civil service, you may have to complete a one-year probationary period. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
