This vacancy is for a Supervisory Export Enforcement Analyst in the Bureau of Industry and Security within the Department of Commerce. The primary purpose of the position is to serve as the Assistant Director (AD) for the International Operations Division (IOD) providing direct support to Export Enforcement's preventative enforcement and export control compliance programs.

Duties

As a Supervisory Export Enforcement Analyst, you will perform the following duties: Formulates and implement export enforcement policy and engages with foreign partners to further BIS policy objectives and U.S. national security interests and increase global cooperation and action on export enforcement activities. Oversees employees who monitor and evaluate export transactions and all-source intelligence to ensure compliance with, inter alia, the Export Control Reform Act of 2018; Export Administration Act of 1979, as amended; Export Administration Regulations; International Emergency Economic Powers Act; and related statutes. other annual metrics as requested by the OEA Director. Provides reports and summaries in response to requests from other Federal agencies, including the U.S. Congress and the General Accounting Office. Qualifications

Qualification requirements in the vacancy announcements are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook, which contains federal qualification standards. This handbook is available on the Office of Personnel Management's website located at: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/ Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the GS-15 level: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience presenting information and / or presentations on national and / or international export enforcement issues; Experience coordinating and / or conducting criminal investigations concerning export control violations; AND Experience identifying potential violators of export control laws.
