This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of an anticipated vacancy for a senior attorney to serve as Counsel at the Trident Refit Facility Bangor (TRF Bangor) located on Naval Base Kitsap in Bangor, Washington. Duties
You will manage and serve as the subject matter expert for the paralegal.
You will provide legal advice, assistance, and representation on the full range of civilian personnel and labor law matters.
You will advise on civilian personnel and labor law issues, including disciplinary actions, performance appraisals, investigations, reasonable accommodation requests, security matters, EEO matters, and Federal Employee’s Compensation Act matters.
You will provide services on areas including litigation at the Merit Systems Protection Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, federal district court, and union grievance arbitrations.
You will be called upon to provide legal services in other OGC practice areas such as fiscal law, standards of conduct, ethics, Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act matters.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
Qualifications
The position will be filled at the GS-15 level.
To be eligible for selection at the GS-15 level, the candidate must have at least five-and-one-half years of recent and relevant professional legal experience in one or more of the relevant practice areas described above., with significant civilian personnel law and/or personnel-related litigation experience.

Education
The successful applicant must have graduated from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, be an active member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. Commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia, and be admitted to practice before a state or federal court.
