This is a Direct Hire Authority solicitation utilizing the DHA for DIB & MRTFB in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties
Classifies, routes, and rates domestic and international shipments of hazardous and general supplies for the Blue Grass Army Depot.
Utilizes technical guides and publications to ship a wide variety of commodities.
Maintains accurate transit applications, recordings, and control records for an organization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance for the duration of their employment.
- This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) of up to 5 percent for training and work-related purposes.
- The incumbent may be required to participate in Chemical Accident/Incident Response and Assistant (CAIRA) situations and serve on teams dedicated to controlling CAIRA situations after being trained for particular duty involved.
- The incumbent is required to successfully complete an initial 80-hour hazardous material certification course, Ammo-62 Technical Transportation of Hazardous Materials, and recertification course every two years.

Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) assisting with classifying or routing shipments using established guidance; 2) assisting with computing rates or routes for domestic shipments; 3) updating records of charges for shipments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6).
Specialized Experience GS-08: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) assisting with classifying and routing shipments using established guidance; 2) computing rates or routes for domestic shipments; 3) assisting with computing rates for international shipments; and 4) maintaining records of charges for shipments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-7).
Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) classifying and routing shipments using established guidance; 2) computing rates and routes for domestic and international shipments; and 3) creating and maintaining records of chares for shipments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-8).
