About the Position: This position is in the Naval Medical Center Office of Dir. of Education, Training and Residency, San Diego, California

Duties

Interprets guidance received from various levels of the hospital personnel for incorporation into the curriculum planning guide. Coordinates training and residency education program rotations with various internal and external agencies that provide residency program training. Responsible for the Residency Training Manual. Coordinates electronic and hard copy periodic evaluations of residents, interns, and ward attendings.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes collecting, organizing, analyzing, and processing administrative data to produce course documentation; developing class schedules, student materials, examination material and instructional aides; ensuring students records are accurate; tracking progress of students during course. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Health Care Management, Business Management or Human Resource. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining a short-term and long-term academic calendar; performing duties pertaining to file management, correspondence, records management, and travel orders/vouchers; compiling, proof reading, and posting course-related material. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Health Care Management, Business Management or Human Resource. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
