Duties
As a/an Supervisory Training Specialist, you will:
Serve as an advisor to the Office Director and Deputy on all training and employee development initiatives within Housing by exercising a combination of practical knowledge of the methods and techniques of instruction and practical knowledge of the subject-matter being taught.
Work closely with Housing managers and other program staff regarding recommendations and allocations of training budget resources based on the priority of requested training and the most cost effective training delivery strategy.
Coordinate for Housing, Headquarters and the field, the process and procedures for the management of the Housing commercial credit card program as it relates to processing payments for training that is within the current authorized amount.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-14, specialized experience includes one year of experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent, that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes:
- Providing training, leadership, and guidance for personnel within the organization; AND
- Planning and conducting training needs analyses for personnel within the organization; AND
- Assessing and evaluating existing training methods and materials of the organization and making recommendations for improvement or modification; AND
- Supporting the administration, operations, or training related to a Housing program.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
