You will serve as a in the RANGE COMPLEX MANAGER of NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE CTR CORONADO.

Duties

You will advise commanders and senior staff officers on all matters pertaining to the capabilities and limitations of a range training complex. You will coordinate range operations support efforts between internal and external organizations. You will coordinate range logistics to prepare ranges for the training mission with all required resources (e.g., funding, ordnance, equipment, materials). You will manage projects for construction, renovations, and improvements to facilities. You will oversee maintenance and construction projects (e.g., estimating, planning, execution) to provide quality, timeliness, and cost effectiveness of facilities maintenance projects and services. You will brief senior leaders on the progress of military training.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Range Safety Officer and Range Officer in Charge designation IAW COMNAVSPECWARCOMINST 3591.1.
  • Per OPNAVINST 5530.13, before persons are assigned to duties involving control of or unescorted access to AA and E (including security, inventory, supply audit and AA and E handling personnel, and truck drivers transporting AA and E).

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing small arms range complexes, budgeting and planning range complex construction projects, and applying military tactics, techniques, and procedures in a training environment.
