About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the HQ USSOUTHCOM, Security and Intelligence Directorate, Miami, Florida, with duty location Doral, Florida.

Duties

Serves as a Program Manager and advisor to the U.S. Southern Command Intelligence Directorate's (SCJ2) Office of Innovation, Science and Technology (SCJ26). Works with the Senior Program Manager to develop strategic plans for programs focusing on Advanced Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (A-ISR); advanced analytics; Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and battlespace awareness. Implements approved plans, allocating resources effectively and overseeing budget expenditure in line with established guidelines to ensure fiscal responsibility and maximize return on investment. Monitors project progress meticulously, tracking against timelines and performance metrics using project management tools and methodologies. Supports the Senior Program Manager/Contract Officer Representative by participating in the development of methodologies and standards for project success. Participates in developing and analyzing performance metrics to assess project health, identify areas for improvement, and highlight successes. Acts as a liaison between project teams and relevant stakeholders across government and private entities.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on an SSBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) maybe required up to 10% of the time.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial period may be required.
