You will serve as a COMPOSITE/PLASTICS FABRICATOR SUPV I in the Rubber and Plastics Shop (57B), Electronics Repair Division (TRF-730), Weapons Repair Department (TRF-700) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will establish and maintain an appropriate work environment among employees which ensures achievement of managements goals by providing timely, efficient, and economical work on a continuing basis. You will plan the sequence of operations and work steps for composite or plastic fabricating employees supervised. You will assign and explain work requirements as required to subordinates and assist in resolution of problem areas. You will supervise and manufacture rubber stamps (e.g., design, template engraving, compression molding, assembly) in accordance with specifications. You will establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences for composite or plastic fabricating work projects. You will comply and follow guidelines and requirements established in the negotiated labor contract. You will analyze all Command and higher authority policies, procedures, and plans to ensure efficient operations through the shop. You will recommend policies, procedures, planning modifications, additions, improvements, etc., to Department Head, via the General Foreman, For Command and higher level concurrence.

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Maybe required to work aboard ships, submarines and within shops which may lead to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Maybe required to work at various heights from ladders, scaffolding, buckets etc.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE SUCH AS: Supervise personnel to execute assigned tasks. Plan, coordinate, direct shop operations to meet production goals. Develop, establish, coordinate, track and analyze work plans and schedules to meet production goals. Supervise manufacture, installation and repair (including cutting, drilling, gridding, sanding, polishing, bending, engraving, vacuum forming and bonding). Supervise manufacture, installation and repair of submarine cable assemble used for electrical power, signal, or radio frequency transmission with urethane, neoprene, poly vinyl chloride, or polyolefin jackets to meet operational specifications. Supervise and use measuring and testing equipment for the repair of ship/submarine system.
