About the Position: This position is located in Fort Knox Kentucky. This position is restricted to persons entitled to Veterans' Preference; if there are no Veteran's preference eligible applicants available, non-preference applicants may be considered.

Duties

Recommend performance ratings, disciplinary actions, and/or new hires. Perform the full range of duties identical to those of subordinate employees such as operating heavy powered cleaning equipment and/or maintaining restrooms. Provide updates to supervisor on status and progress of work. Provide technical directions and/or help in accomplishing difficult work. Adjust and/or performs minor maintenance to attachments on power equipment. Determine the number of employees, equipment, materials, and supplies needed at worksites. Serve as campus point of contact. Provide the completed Quality Control checklists to the Project Manager during the monthly meetings.

Requirements

• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
• Direct deposit of pay is required.
• One year trial or probationary period may be required.
• Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
• One year supervisory probation period may be required.
• This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required.
• Work may include assignment to first or second shift.
• Incumbent must be able to operate a government vehicle within 45 days of the date of hire.
• Call-back and emergency overtime may be required of this position.
• Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability To Lead or SuperviseAbility To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentDexterity and SafetyWork Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean and in order) Physical Effort: Occasionally uses heavy powered cleaning equipment (e.g., industrial type buffers). Occasionally exerts moderately heavy physical effort such as that required in lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds, requiring continuous standing, bending, stooping and reaching. Requires working on ladders/scaffold in the performance of some duties. Weight handling equipment is available. Working Conditions: Usually works indoors in areas which are adequately heated, lighted, and ventilated. Exposed to vibration from heavy equipment and to skin irritation from strong cleaning solutions. Care must be taken to avoid serious injury when working on ladders and scaffolds or when using heavy powered equipment. Safety equipment is available.
