THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT PILOT (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD0640000 and is part of the TN ARMYArmy National Guard.
This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 110.
Duties
As an AIRCRAFT PILOT (TITLE 32) GS-2181-12, you will, pilot a variety of fixed wing twin engine airplanes and utility helicopters to transport passengers and cargo to and from a variety of points. Perform maintenance operation checks (MOCs) and limited and general test flights of aircraft to ensure air worthiness upon completion of extensive disassembly for maintenance, repair or replacement of components or aircraft systems. Perform other duties as assigned.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

- A dual status technician must obtain and maintain all military certifications OR Federal Aviation Administration certificates; current aeronautical ratings, medical and flight physical requirements, and qualifications for aviation service.
- Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
- Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
Qualifications
Military Grades: WO1 through CW2
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one year on the job experience in the grade (or a comparable military rank) immediately below the next higher level; a competent understanding of the occupation's basic principles and concepts?
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:At least two years specialized experience in operating a specific main-frame military aircraft, mission planning, and mission preparation. Experience in reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information. Experience in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings. Experience in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments. Experience in performing or supervising work procedures involved in navigation, in-flight refueling, search and rescue operations or surveillance and reconnaissance; competent in conducting or supervising the training of crew members in simple to complex mission specific tasks. Experience in developing plans and policies, monitoring operations, and advising commanders. Knowledge in flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and operating procedures; experience in the unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs in accordance with Department of Defense, Department of the Army, National Guard Bureau, and/or Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies, regulations, and directives.
Education
Educational and Certification Requirements: Must have a high school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma.
Substitution of Education to qualify for this position is not available.
To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
You must provide copy of official transcripts that include degree awarded and date conferred to support your Educational claims.
