This position is located in DHS/U.S. Coast Guard, Seventh Coast Guard District, Air Station Clearwater, Engineering Department, in Clearwater, FL.
Duties
The primary purpose of the position is to operate and maintain fuel distribution equipment and associated mobile equipment used in the transport of aviation fuels.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- The position requires a valid state driver's license.
- Applicant is required to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- A final offer of employment is contingent upon a negative drug test result.
- This position requires travel.
Qualifications
Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired. Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements:
1. Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (Screen-out Element).
2. Knowledge of the operation of one or more relatively routine work stations and the skill to manipulate the controls required to regulate the flow of gasoline, diesel, and JP-5 (aviation) fuels, in a safe and efficient manner.
3. Ability to properly make hose and valve connections and observe for potential leaks or equipment malfunctions. Ability to conduct visual inspections of plugs, valves, pumps, and piping.
4. Ability to clean, prepare, and paint exposed fuel piping, valves, and fuel tank vents.
5. Ability to lubricate pumps and motors.
6. Ability to perform routine maintenance on motor vehicle equipment, maintain fluid levels, tire pressure, charge batteries, lubricate vehicles, clean vehicles inside and out, and other related duties.
