Duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) at Buckley Space Force Base is searching for a Sustainment Integration Lead (NH-0346-03). Description: This position will serve as the Space Sensing (SBIRS/DSP/JTAGS) Operational Integration Lead. Your section is responsible for maintaining the OPIR operational baseline; reviewing and authorizing project integration and fully understanding (and being able to effectively communicate) risk to operations for integration of each project. The section approves changes to operational baselines, communicates perceived level of risk, concerns, and work arounds to project owners as well as to mission users/owners (military organization) and internal, external stakeholders. This includes effectively communicating (across multiple classifications), setting expectations from the start to all stakeholders, coordinating assessments and analyzing risks. Additionally, this section also responds to anomalies and is the Operational User's direct interface to sustainment needs. Maintaining professionalism with the operational user is of utmost importance as well as he ability to support enabling capabilities to warfighters. The ideal candidate will have experience in analyzing system modification, tech refreshes, re-architectures, and other changes from a Program Management and Logistical perspective. Government Acquisition/Sustainment process understanding. Experience analyzing system vulnerabilities and assessing risk. Thorough understanding of Systems Engineering processes, risk management. Have working-level knowledge and experience with agile developmental systems like Confluence, JIRA, Platform 1; Network Management experience strongly desired. Undergraduate or Graduate Education: - Degree in Engineering, logistics, information science, Information systems management, program management or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 28+ semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. (preferred) - Strong and effective communicator using multiple methods (in-person, phone, email) if one does not yield results; strong emphasis on inter-personal relationship-building with critical stakeholders and in-person communication whenever possible. Training & Certificates: - One of the following is preferred: Logistics, Systems Engineering, Program Management Network Management Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of a principles, concepts, procedures, standards, and techniques of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) sufficient to plan and execute a complex and difficult product support program; and to apply new developments to issues for which previous techniques are frequently inadequate. 2. Knowledge of the missions, roles, function, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of Defense and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition and sustainment process and integrated life cycle management. 3. Ability to plan, analyze, and coordinate a system or portion of a major system's acquisition and transfer into operational use, sustainment and disposal; to include the identification and correlation of specific requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities, and services needed to support the program; and to develop and analyze data to determine logistic objectives and goals, identify support requirements (including funding, contract development, and other technical support requirements), and establish relationships between the participants involved in deploying the plan. 4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, with technical accuracy and to use computers and a variety of software programs and databases. Gather and analyze a variety of program information, make sound judgments concerning program progress, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management and contractors.

Requirements

  • This position is eligible for telework, 2-4 days per pay period within commuting distance to the office.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
  • Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall.
  • Incumbent may be required to report to work during base exercises, contingencies, or emergency situations and overtime/comp time/credit hours may be required to accomplish assigned duties.
  • PCS and relocation funding is available.
