You will serve as a SUPERVISORY CONTRACT SPECIALIST within NAVY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties

You will be responsible for all matters pertaining to the contract through the life of the contract. You will have the ability to act as both a contract expert and a business advisor in developing business and contracting strategies in the Defense Acquisition environment. You will serve as a technical authority for field visits and reviews, and serves as a member of task force. You will make contractual decisions and procurement policies/procedures and recommendations.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following; 1. Planning, directing, coordinating, and executing contractual and procurement policy actions involved in supporting sophisticated and technologically advanced systems. 2. Monitoring development and acquisition activities to promote and maintain maximum coordination and integration. 3. Developing and presenting convincing oral/written presentations to all levels of government and industry. 4. Executing contract instruments for sole source and competitive procurement actions. Education

Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirements of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions:

A. A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees

B. I am a current career or career-conditional employee of the Department of Defense who occupied an 1102 or contracting position with authority to award or administer contracts in excess of the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT) in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000.

C.I am a current active duty military member of the armed forces (other than Coast Guard) who occupied a contracting position or similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 on or before September 30, 2000.

D.I am in the Contingency Contracting Force.
