You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST in the Administrative Support Office of MY NAVY CAREER CENTER.

Duties

You will advise personnel on alternative approaches to solve customer issues. You will maintain a status tracking system of organizational workload to manage work commitments. You will coordinate travel management policy and administrative guidelines for processing travel actions. You will develop information papers, briefings, or testimony on readiness issues.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Drafts reviews, revises and implements administrative instructions, policy guidance/procedures, explanatory memoranda and other instruction references; 2) Schedules appointments; maintains the calendar of meetings, and receives visitors and incoming telephone calls; 3) Establishes and maintains subject matter files, records, publications and other pertinent documentation are established, maintained and disposed of in compliance with current regulations; 4) Serves as the Defense Travel System (DTS) subject matter expert and accountable official. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled
