This position is located in Pacific Northwest Region, Region 6, at the Supervisor's Office of the Umpqua National Forest in Roseburg, Oregon.
This position serves as the Community Engagement & Business Operations Staff Officer to the Forest Supervisor providing strategic guidance and leadership of Community Engagement, Tribal Relations and Administrative Services.

Duties
The position works for the Forest Supervisor and is member of the Forest Leadership Team.
Responsible for oversight and leadership to those programs and disseminating the information to other staff officers and the Forest Leadership Team.
Manages and supervises the Forest programs for Community Engagement, Tribal Relations and Administrative Services.
Responsible for oversight and leadership to those programs and disseminating the information to other staff officers and the Forest Leadership Team.
The position also works closely with the Regional office and neighboring Forests in these program areas.
Provides oversight, management, and coordination of the budget activities for the organization; which includes formulation and execution of the budget.
Speaks as the representative of the program, agency, or federal government in public forums.
Requirements

Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Qualifying specialized experience includes meeting two or more of the following: Worked as a senior specialist that requires knowledge and skill in performing staff analytical, planning, and evaluative assignments concerned with the administrative and operational aspects of organizations, programs, services and management. Provided advice and guidance in one or more functional areas such as office management, human resources, budget and finance, contracting, purchasing, workforce management, etc. Participated in the unit's strategic planning process and development of long-range plans.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
