About the Position: This position will serve as a Senior Health Physicist with responsibility as a Quality Manager of the U.S. Army Dosimetry Center, developing new proposes to enhance the quality of the program and to address new dosimetry requirements.
Duties
Serve as Senior Health Physicist responsible for performing professional work in the field of personnel dosimetry.
Design, develop, test and evaluate radiation instrumentation and other devices utilized in the mission of the Dosimetry Branch.
Locate, evaluate and test commercially available dosimetry instruments by analyzing designs, radiation properties, electronic circuitry used, by making a determination of the scientific soundness of the principles used.
Design and conduct tests of various competing designs of devices to determine the items which fulfill the legal and regulatory dosimetry requirements and best fulfill the needs of the Army dosimetry program.
Proficiency in the related disciplines of mechanical engineering, electronics, mathematics, processing quality control/assurance and customer techniques is required for successful performance of duties.

Specialized Experience can be defined as having one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) providing ionizing radiation dosimetry support through the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) to personnel whose duties require the use of radioactive material, consequence management response force personnel that respond to nuclear events and/or exposure from ionizing radiation devices.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
