You will serve as a Crane Operator in the Crane Team Shop O2A, Crane and Rigging Operations Division (Code 220), Waterfront Support Department (Code 200) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Duties
You will conduct the pre-use check of Category I, II and III Cranes and ensure the safe rigging of the load.
You will provide safe and effective movement of loads supported by portal, overhead electric travel and floating cranes in open and confined areas within shops and on wharves and positioning of items in exacting areas.
You will ensure the safe operation of assigned portal, overhead traveling and floating crane and performs pre-use check of the crane at the start of the shift.
You will plan, priorities and schedule all work requiring weight handling equipment testing.
You will perform operational daily checklist inspection of crane prior to operation to ensure proper functioning of crane components and equipment.
You will be responsible for responsible for the safe operation of the assigned portal, mobile, floating, or overhead traveling cranes.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current IT-II Level designation certification.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Experience conducting safe lifting operations with Category 1 and 2 cranes supporting routine lifts and load tests/weight tests operations.
Experience making proper rigging gear selection.
Experience conducting prior to use inspection of equipment and gear and attaches weight handling gear to support movement by crane or mobile material handling equipment.
Experience planning, laying out, assembling, repairing, testing and installing complex weight handling gear and standing and running rigging to manufacture, test and certify rigging gear for use; and positions extremely large heavy items in congested shops and work areas ad maneuver over, under and around obstacles by tilting, dipping and turning the suspend load.
