You will serve as a STUDENT TRAINEE (ENGINEERING AID) in the Environmental Management Division of MARINE CORPS BASE.
The Summer Hire Program is designed to provide our youth an opportunity to gain viable work experience and enable them to acquire the requisite skills for successful job performance.
Duties
You will perform engineering computations using electronic calculators, and perform specific arithmetic computations.
You will operate office machines, including reproduction equipment, along with performing general proof and file updating.
You will perform specific arithmetic computations.
You will assist in the collection of data from records or other sources and participate in studies.
You will assist in the development of various reports and cost estimates.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and a current student enrolled in:
1) A high school or home-school curriculum approved by a State or local governing body;
2) An accredited college (including technical, vocational trade schools, two or four year colleges/universities);
3) A graduate or professional school (e.g., law school, medical school, etc.); OR
4) A Certificate Program in a qualifying educational institution, equivalent to at least one academic year of full-time study, that is part of an accredited, college-level, technical, trade, vocational or business school curriculum. Short-term training and/or certificate programs (i.e., several two-week programs completed or class sessions attended over a period of two years) that are not required for the position or which lack sufficient academic rigor, are not considered an acceptable academic course of study.
