This position serves as a Nurse Educator at the Claremore Indian Hospital (CIH). The incumbent will plan, develop, present and direct educational programs to update or increase knowledge, improve competence, achieve established standards of care, and ensure maximum utilization of CIH Nursing staff. This position will be supervised by the Supervisor Clinical Nurse (CNE).

Duties
Plan, develop and present mandatory education programs.
Gather data and asses the educational and training needs of the nursing staff.
Provide regular and special in-service training sessions for nursing staff.
Develop, maintain and utilize records and reports pertinent to staff development.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education: Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. Must submit copy of transcript. Applications will be considered incomplete without proof.
AND
License: Applicants must have active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Must submit copy of Nursing license that includes expiration date.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-12: One year of specialized experience utilizing existing and self-developed teaching tools, course material, class population and consult with other members of the educational department team for input into specialized training programs. Assess learning and training needs of newly licensed nursing staff and contract/agency staff utilizing a variety of tools from which recommendations for in-service education, specialized training, individualized training, and new and improved training programs can be made. Collect and organize data obtained from assessment methods. Teach, direct, and coordinates others to teach, utilizing new or adapted approaches, utilized appropriate teaching methodology and leveling techniques to ensure course effectiveness and proper learner responses.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
