This position is located at Seward Military Resort. Approximate dates of employment are 15 May - 15 September 2024. Housing may be provided on a space available basis. Up to 25% recruitment and retention incentive may be authorized for positions offering at least a guarantee of 10 hours per week. Duties

Performs a variety of tasks having several steps or a sequence of tasks that requires attention to work operations in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures. Receives specific training from the supervisory chef and is evaluated on the basis of demonstrated skill in carving as directed. Sets up buffet lines, steam tables, dining room tables and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter and beverages; replenishes as necessary.

• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2 to include a medical examination.
• Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
• Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Requires constant standing, stooping, bending, walking and reaching.

Qualifications

Ability to follow oral and written instructions and possess basic math skills. Experience as a Food Service Worker desirable. Ability to follow oral instructions and do assigned repetitive tasks. Must observe established safety procedures when using knives and other equipment in the performance of duties. Knowledge of food handling techniques for sanitation and safety purposes is required. Must have skill and knowledge to perform tasks involving several procedures and be able to concentrate on work assignments despite frequent interruptions and distractions. Must know basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures.
