About the Position: Serve as a senior realty specialist providing technical assistance and oversight for acquisition activities to branch personnel and outside entities.
Note: Relocation/Recruitment incentive may be authorized if found advantageous to the government.
Duties
Receive assignments relative to the acquisition of real property, including buildings, land, easements, and rights-of-way.
Study appraisal reports, tract maps, title reports, public records and other information to become thoroughly familiar with property, ownership, and other conditions involved.
Identify scope of work for which the Asset Management Division is responsible, identify and document project real estate constraints and criteria, and coordinate real estate activities including funding and scheduling.
Prepare and/or oversee the preparation of real estate plans and reports and other project and program decision documents, assuring all are in accordance with applicable regulations and authorization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is required to possess or obtain and maintain an active U.S. Drivers' License.

GS-12 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting various real property acquisitions; participating in successful real estate negotiations; timely completion and execution of required documentation and assisting lower graded employees with complex or controversial real estate transactions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11 or above.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
