About the Position: Serve as a Supply Technician with responsibility for maintaining Stock Record accountability, and ensuring availability of material on behalf of the Logistics Readiness Center, Fort Irwin, California.

Duties

Maintain automated records to reflect items of property, repair parts, and components received, issued or disposed. Process receipt transactions for material received by contract, local purchase, and other means. Investigate receiving documents involving discrepancies, such as overages, shortages, substitutes, and non-specification items; examines contract files, authorizations, and charges. Conduct warehouse functions such as receiving, shipping, storing, issuing and inventorying items. Operate forklift to move, load and unload, transfer and stack/unstack palletized goods, boxes, crates holding merchandise, materials and supplies. Operate motor vehicles to include a 5-ton truck to transport material and supplies.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed Tier 1 background investigation.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid Government Driver's License to operate Government-owned or Government-leased motor vehicles.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 25 pounds in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a Forklift Operator's Certificate within six (6) months of employment.
  • This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment such as protective helmet, eye protection, hearing protection, work gloves, cold weather gloves, cold weather over garments for freezers, steel toe boots, and reflector vest.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work holidays, weekends and during inclement weather in support of rotational unit training.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
