In this position, you will work as a member of Region Ten's, MItigation Division team. The ideal candidate for this position has experience coordinating with federal agencies, tribes, states, or local communities regarding various aspects of floodplain management including the National Flood Insurance Program and the protection of natural floodplain functions.

To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:
Collaborating with federal, state, tribal, local communities, or other stakeholders to develop plans, outreach, or education related to the implementation of floodplain management standards (examples of floodplain management standard include: NFIP, Executive Orders 11988 and 13690 or state and local equivalents, etc.); and,
Serving as a spokesperson and/or expert at conferences, meetings, committees or working groups; and,
Leading or participating on a team of multiple subject matter experts; and,
Writing or editing technical material.
