The mission of the DEEOIC is to administer, develop, establish and implement policies, regulations and procedures for benefit provisions of the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act. This position serves as the primary point of coordination, contact, oversight and problem resolution for compensation payments, security and integrity of automated payments systems, and day-to-day oversight of fiscal operations. This position is inside the bargaining unit.

Duties

Advertised salary reflects the pay range for the above locations. Upon selection, the salary will be set in accordance with the selectee's assigned duty location. Major duties of this position include:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
  • Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants may qualify with education or specialized experience. If using experience, applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-9, in the Federal Service. Qualifying specialized experience includes: Applied accounting and auditing policies, procedures, and principles to identify financial problems, discrepancies, overpayments, underpayments, or erroneous data. Used computer applications to process and track compensation payments or medical bills. Analyzed, validated, processed, and corrected financial transactions and issues/problems. OR Earned a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or completed 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M. OR A combination of graduate education and experience.
