This position is located at the Liberty Center aboard NAS Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, Washington. Employees may be assigned to schedule and participate in activities, maintain the facility and assist with daily operations.
Duties
Incumbent will be assigned primarily to the Liberty center to provide direct customer service to patrons using the facility. Responsibilities may include greeting customers, and refer telephone calls, provide information regarding the facility and programs. Incumbent assists with planning, coordinating, and execution of classes, and special events, family activity nights for squadron and tenant commands. Assists with Deployed Forces Support activities such as but not limited to Command's Send Off, Halfway Parties, and Homecomings. Provides technical assistance/training to patrons to ensure care used when carrying out programs and activities. May be required to drive an 8 or 15 passenger van, keep trip records, participant counts, and custody of equipment. Distribute information. Responsible for collection and safeguarding of any funds that may be collected as a result of a fee or change. Light housekeeping, and other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The incumbent must have one-year practical work experience including direct customer service.
Basic computer knowledge is required (data entry, word processing, internet, electronic mail).
Incumbent must have at least one year experience handling cash and utilizing a point-of-sale system.
Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations. Must be able to communicate effectively and courteously, using proper English grammar and punctuation. Must be able to follow verbal and written direction, and present a neat, clean appearance.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
